The city of Prachatice is one of the best-preserved city complexes in the Czech Republic - the historic core has retained its Renaissance appearance within the ring surrounded by the city walls that have been preserved so far. For these reasons, the historical core was declared a City Heritage Site in 1981 - only 40 of the best-preserved cities have this degree of conservation.
In addition to historical monuments, you can visit the indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, football stadium, skateboard area, aquapark in the Prachatice region. Several cross-country trails are maintained around the town in winter, Prachatice is a popular exit point for many cycling routes in summer.
